The broadcasting division of the Hokkaido Sapporo International Intercultural and Technological High School chose to produce a radio programme titled ‘To the future’ (Mirai e). They interviewed Iwanami Eiko, having seen her testimony in testimony collections and on the Sapporo Virtual Peace Museum. They submitted their broadcast as part of the National High School General Culture Festival.19 I hope that such events run as part of the Sapporo City Peace Events project and the efforts of teachers and local government officials, and the production of supplementary educational materials and staging of exhibitions, will lead to greater awareness of the history of air raids in Sapporo and Hokkaido among the people.
